Teeth Whitening

Our natural teeth absorb stains from food and drinks and this can dull the colour of our teeth.  Whitening treatments can restore the natural whiteness and freshen up the appearance of our teeth. We lighten your teeth by application of a tooth whitening gel to the surfaces.  This will take the form of home whitening, wearing close-fitting application trays worn overnight for 3-4 weeks or so.  This is the longest-established form of whitening and gives long lasting stable results with no damage to the tooth.

Once whitened, the improvement will look at its best for between 2-3 years depending on how much tea, coffee, red wine, tobacco and other staining products you use.  Research has shown that even if you do no further treatment, the teeth will retain around 40% of the original improvement 10 years after treatment.

However, many people choose to ‘top up’ their whitening around 2-3 years after treatment.  If/when you wish to top-up the whitening you can buy additional gel for your home trays.

Internal Whitening

When teeth have been root canal treated, they can start to discolour and have a dull, grey appearance.  We can whiten the tooth from inside the actual tooth to restore the natural colour of the tooth.  The results can be life changing!
